With 15+ years of graphic design experience, the majority of my background has been in the corporate realm working for and with a large in-house design agency. While in-house, I not only had the opportunity to work on some of the nations leading brands, I also have had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the most talented designers, art directors, photographers, marketing and support staff in the business.
Examples you see here span that 15+ year career, but by no means does this represent the entire body of work. The number of packages I’ve produced probably runs in the thousands, logos in the hundreds, same with e-blasts, and in store point of sale materials. Not to mention all the one-off special projects, from vehicle graphics to magazine ads.
E-blasts
Email marketing is more important than ever. It takes design skills and a deep understanding of the limitations of the different email clients. These were designed by myself in Photoshop, then it’s a collaborative effort with the developer to be coded.
Logo & badge Design
Since my corporate work is primarily for well established brands there are few opportunities to produce true stand alone logos. More often the need is for secondary or support logos for a tool feature or a specific campaign. Logos that call out a feature on a tool tend to be very simple (often times printed on the tool itself). Campaign logos give more opportunity to stretch the brand a little and have some fun. Here are just a few of my favorites.
Ryobi Nation Show LOGO
This one was for a YouTube based talk show and podcast. It was used as a background on set as well as on promotional materials such as mugs, hats and tee shirts. For every logo designed there is an art board full of concepts that didn’t make the cut. Here are a couple of those that didn’t make it along with the final logo used on set and in the show’s opening scene animation.
Brochures & Catalogs
Home Depot Digital Circulars
These next two digital circulars lived on Home Depot’s website on their “Local Ad” page. I would do one for the RYOBI brand and one for the RIDGID brand, they are updated quarterly and represent a ton of work on the layout side. They each take about a week to put together, and once I’m done with the layout the digital production team takes over providing links and popups for each product.

Here’s some production work done for the Hoover Platinum Collection, distributed nationwide in Walmart and other retailers.
Client: Homelite Outdoor Power Products
This one stretches back a few years but it was a fun project. Homelite, already in the outdoor power tool market, took a stab at the solar lighting category.

PACKAGING PRODUCTION
One thing that I’ve done plenty of is packaging design and production. Some of the brands included are Ryobi, Ridgid, Husky, Arctic Cove, Stoke Grills, Hoover and Dirt Devil. Wherever the need was greatest I would jump in and get to work. Speaking of how much packing I’ve done here’s a little illustration/motion graphic I created that says it all.
